In early March, Masha Efrosinina, co-founder of the Masha Fund, launched a $1 million fundraiser to support women affected by the war. And a week ago, she gathered the October Palace in Kyiv for the Best Non-STANDUP charity event, which finally allowed her to close the fundraiser.
“In the first month and a half, we collected 250,000 UAH, and then my socially conscious friends came to the rescue, who also turned out to be the funniest comedians in the country,” says Masha Efrosinina, co-founder of the Masha Fund. “Together we organized the Women’s Meeting, The Best Non-STANDUP at the October Palace, to, as we say, both make jokes and help becauseit’s actually simple.
Together with Masha, Lera Mandziuk, Nastya Tkachenko, and Andriy Cherepuschak performed in the October Palace. Thanks to the tickets sold for the event and the charity auction, from which a dress was sold for 65,000 UAH, the fundraiser was successfully closed.
“A little more than a week has passed since the event, and we still can’t forget how special and valuable this evening was for us! This was, without exaggeration, the best non-STANDUP!” shares Masha Efrosinina.
All money raised will go to support the work of the Nezlamna Mental Recovery Center, which has been operating in Kyiv since 2023. At the Center, women can receive free, qualified psychological assistance: group or individual consultations, particularly for women who have lost their loved ones in the war or are waiting for a partner from the war, as well as art therapy and kundalini yoga classes. Recruitment for the group is ongoing; you can register here.
