Together for Unbreakable Moms: How the Masha Fund and the Tokarev Foundation support women during war

For the fourth year now, the Masha Fund has been continuously helping women and their children affected by the war. More than 35 thousand people received psychological support from the NGO! And over 4,000 women and children have completed the Unbreakable Mom emotional stabilization program, where psychologists literally give participants back the desire and strength to live on after losing their loved ones, homes, and having their destinies ruined.

Over the years of work, the psychological trauma of Ukrainians has become deeper and deeper, and the Masha Fund is constantly looking for new approaches to stabilization. That is why the Unbreakable Mom program continues to strengthen, adding both online and offline tools that help specialists better understand the needs of participants and act proactively. Constantly looking for new formats to reach even more women, provide them with more warmth and professional support, help them experience emotional swings and gradually return to themselves, to a sense of resourcefulness and strength. And now I am pleased to announce a new, second, stage of partnership with the Tokarev Foundation and the Healthy Mind mental health assessment project.

“For the Masha Fund, continuing the partnership with the Tokarev Foundation is not just an opportunity to scale the Unbreakable Mom project, but a chance to strengthen its quality, impact, and effectiveness,” says Tetiana Muratkina, director of the Masha Fund. “We are deeply grateful that this year the Healthy Mind team is joining our collaboration, bringing modern scientific tools to assess the psycho-emotional state of our participants. We believe that together we are building a new level of support, where help becomes not only accessible, but also timely, accurate, and effective. We thank our partners for their trust, vision, and willingness to work together to change the system of assistance to women who need it most.

The involvement of the Healthy Mind team in the work on the Unbreakable Mom project adds a powerful diagnostic component that helps to better track the dynamics of the psychological state of the participants.”

“We sincerely believe that technology can become a bridge to more responsive, effective, and personalized support for women during difficult moments in their lives. For us, this cooperation with the Masha Fund is already the second one — and it is not about projects, but about trust, partnership, and a common goal,” says Anastasia Deeva, Executive Director of the Tokarev Foundation. “Last year, we jointly introduced a modern screening tool, which allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of how much self-assessment of psycho-emotional state can differ from the real clinical picture. This is an important discovery, because it determines whether the person who really needs it receives help. This year, together with Healthy Mind, we are going even further — expanding assessment tools and working on creating a system that will help quickly and efficiently identify when and what support is needed. Because quality help must not only be accessible, but also timely.

Today, we are not just helping women affected by war — we are forming a new culture of support. Where everyone knows: they will be heard, understood, and not left alone with their loss or anxiety.
