Cooperation with GIZ opens up new prospects for the Masha Fund in the field of psychological support. It is not only about scaling up the activities of the Unbreakable Mental Recovery Center, but also about attracting a larger number of highly qualified specialists, implementing training programs for psychologists, and developing new methods of assistance.
“Cooperation with GIZ is extremely important for us, because it allows us to provide high-quality psychological support to women and children who have suffered from war and violence,” says Tetiana Muratkina, director of the Masha Fund NGO. “This partnership is of strategic importance as it helps reduce the psychological consequences of war, build a culture of mental health care, and strengthen societal resilience. We believe that through joint efforts we can make a significant contribution to the recovery of Ukraine and the integration of affected women and children into full-fledged lives.
An important component of the cooperation will be the offline and online information campaign One Hundred Words of Support, which is aimed at reducing stigma in the field of mental health and encouraging Ukrainians to seek help.
“I would like to emphasize the importance of the information campaign, which is an important component of the project. In 2025-2026, it will cover the entire territory of Ukraine and will allow us to convey information about the importance of mental health to at least 1,000,000 people,” emphasizes Tetiana Muratkina. “The goal of the campaign is to reduce stigma, encourage Ukrainians to seek help, and make the Center’s services more accessible to residents of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad regions.”
The project Expanding Access to Psychological Support for Women Affected by War is implemented by the Masha Fund NGO within the framework of the GIZ Ukraine project”Gender-Sensitive Approaches to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Ukraine, funded by the German government.
