A project that teaches teenage girls to defend their boundaries and resist physical and psychological violence

Brave

As a part of the "BRAVE" project, each participant is required to take a 12-class self-defence course and attend 5 group sessions with a psychologist. The project aims to teach girls how to resist physical and psychological violence. By combining physical and psychological therapies, the project provides an opportunity for teenagers to learn how to identify the early signs of violence, and how to defend themselves. This helps to boost their self-confidence and reduces the number of victims of domestic violence in the future, which is the primary objective of the Foundation.
Courage is taught to girls by professional self-defence coaches and adolescent psychologists who have experience working with victims of any type of violence.

The project is designed for girls aged 12 to 18.
During a year of the "Brave" project's operation, it expanded to six more Ukrainian cities beyond Kyiv: Korosten, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, and Lviv.
"Masha Fund" has initiated a series of offline safety training sessions in collaboration with psychologists and trainers from "Brave". The aim is to educate more teenagers on establishing boundaries, as well as why and how to protect them. This program will benefit approximately 11,000 Ukrainian schoolgirls.
